BP 9.5, Calcium phosphate 9.5, plus base to 100.
METHOD: If
there is excessive swelling or it is obviously seriously infected a strong
course of antibiotic should be administered. The socket should be washed with
warm saline to clear out debris and infected/necrotic tissue. Occasionally the
gingival tissue may have overgrown and close off the socket opening, and then
it should be parted gently to clean out the socket.

socket with suction tip and isolate the socket. Remove Dry socket cotton ball
and gently place into socket. Do not suture in. The patient should be advised
that the cotton will be expelled from the socket.
The cotton ball may have to
be replaced several times as in several cases.
