INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:
Shade selection: Before restoring polish tooth with oil-free Prophy paste and select shade by placing VITA LUMIN against wet tooth in day light or day light corrected lamp.
Please note shade guide in not provided.
Cavity preparation;
Minimal cavity preparation is desirable. Ensure the enamel margins are levelled to maximize acid etching and bonding strength. Ensure all the residual amalgam and old restoration is removed. Before applying bond, isolate tooth and make sure it is kept dry throughout the procedure, as moisture will interfere with bonding and strength of restoration.
Pulp protection: It is advisable to line the deepest part of the cavity with a dot of Calcium hydroxide liner such as Carecal or Calbase LC. Do not use an eugenol based liner.
Sandwich technique: If the cavity is very deep then line the deepest part of cavity with hard setting Calcium hydroxide liner. Then line the rest of the cavity with glass-ionomer liner such as Restobase. The liner can be laid in thick layers reaching the enamel-dentinal junction. This will reduce the thickness of composite and help to achieve full light core throughout and also assists in reducing pressure caused by expansions and contraction of composites. Following this the whole area can be acid etched including the glass ionomer.
APPLICATION OF HI-CRYSTA:
Syringe: The required amount of LC Composite is removed from the syringe to fill the prepared retentive cavity.
Campules: Load correct shade onto applicator. Ensure that the tip is securely inserted. Using firm pressure extrude composites directly into cavity, taking care to fill from base upwards avoiding any voids. Fill in increments of 3mm and light cure before adding the next layer. Apply controlled pressure to extrude composite. Always ensure the campule tip is correctly seated. If allergy occurs discontinue use.
CURE OF LC COMPOSITES: Each surface of restoration should be exposed for at least 10 seconds and additional curing should be carried out buccal and lingual walls. Where pins are in position, it is useful to cure the material around them first and then re-pack the rest. Use cellophone strip, celluloid crowns and celluloid cervical matrix, to hold the restoration and cure through these.
CONTOUR/POLISHING/FINISHING: The restoration is easily contoured by fine fast diamond burs. Composite finishing stones should be used to return the surface to a smooth finish. The polishing is carried out by using polishing strips, disc with fine grit Xcem Prophy paste. Final gloss and seal is achieved by painting glaze onto the restoration.
STORAGE: Do not store above 23°C. Always replace cap after use. Protect from heat and light.
CAUTION: Hi-crysta contains resin and dilutent/monomer from methacrylate family. Skin allergy, although rare, is a possibility in some individuals. If irritation is suspected, remove composite from skin and wash thoroughly with soap and water. Avoid contact with eyes, if contact occurs, wash immediately with plenty of water.
