Merge flow is a light cure composite flow material.
Merge flow's unique formulation makes it fast setting, scratch free and high tensile strength flow composite material.
INDICATION: Merge Flow is trusted for filling of teeth where aesthetics are of prime importance. It can also be used for the restorations of all anterior and posterior class III, V, IV, II and I.
CONTRAINDICATION:
In rare cases (delayed and long term) product may cause hypersensitivity or allergy in some people. If such reactions are experienced, discontinue use of the product and refer to physician.
Merge Flow is an adhesive resin and contains acrylates and monomers.
Acrylates may cause allergy.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:
Polish the tooth with Xcem's prophy paste.
Isolate tooth with rubber dam or cotton wool rolls.
Dry tooth thoroughly, making sure the pits and fissures are clean and free from debris.
Apply tooth conditioner to cavity margins and extend to occlusal surface slightly. If glass ionomer base then this can be acid etched. Etch enamel for 20 seconds and dentine for 10 seconds. Wash tooth surface with water and dry tooth until enamel is chalky or has frosty surface, if not observed then apply another layer and immediately place Merge Flow.
APPLICATION OF MERGE FLOW:
Secure application needle to Merge Flow syringe. Lock the needle by turning into the leur lock of syringe. Check by pulling the application needle to ensure it is fully engaged with syringe. Check by pulling the application needle to ensure it is fully engaged with syringe. Squeeze piston of syringe slowly and with constant pressure and check that the material comes out freely from the application tip. Dispense Merge Flow directly into the cavity and light cure it with suitable light curing instrument.
Discard needle after use.
Application of Merge Flow as restorative material (secondary use):Dispense the required amount of material directly to fill the prepared cavity. The dispensing needle is used which is provided along with the syringe in the pack for proper dispensing at the right place and in right amount. Take care to fill from base upward avoiding any void. Fill in the increment of 3mm and light cure before adding the next layer. Apply controlled pressure to dispense the material. If allergy incur discontinue use and consult heath professional.
CAVITY PREPERATION:
Cervical erosions.
Remove decay and if cavity is deep, the deepest pulpal floor should be lined with Calcium hydroxide liner such as pulpcal.
Isolate the tooth, preferably with rubber dam. If cervical area discoloured, it should be polished with fine grit non-fluoride paste. Dry tooth.
Brush a thin layer of merge bond into and around the cavity taking care to extend it beyond the margins of restoration. With dry gentle air stream spread Merge bond. To wet Merge bond apply Merge flow directly from syringe. Contour as necessary. Transparent matrix should be used to obtain excellent adaptation and surface finish.
Trim excess and light cure for at least 40 seconds. If a dark shade has been selected, a longer exposure is necessary. If the depth of cavity is greater than restoration should be cured in 3mm thick layers.
OTHER RESTORATIONS: Minimal cavity prep is required.
Enamel should be preserved even if it is undercut. If the cavity is very deep and there is almost risk of pulp exposure, a Calcium hydroxide liner such as Carecal is recommended.
For posterior large fillings, a sandwich technique is recommended. A glass ionomer base is required which is acid etched and bonded to merge.
Following cavity prep, isolate tooth and dry the cavity. Fill cavity as mentioned.
POLISHING: Use fine grit stone and fine grit composite disks to relieve occlusal surface and excess flash along the edges and cover with varnish. For class III and class II, use of celluloid type strip matrix is recommended for excellent adaptation and surface finish.
Check bites with articulating paper and relieve as necessary if it is high. Check with probe to make sure it has set hard. Adjust with stone if necessary. Normally, light cure for 40 seconds, however, if deep pits then cure for a further 20 seconds.
CAUTION: Merge flow is an adhesive resin system. Spillages should be cleaned immediately. In case of contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of water. In the event of contact with eyes wash with plenty of water or use eye washer as necessary and seek medical advice if necessary.
It is an adhesive and contains acrylates and monomers. Acrylates can cause allergy. If allergy develops then discontinue the use.
Light sensitive material. Protect from light and heat.
STORAGE:
Store at normal room temperature in sealed form.
Keep out of direct light and sunlight.
Humidity can affect the setting system, therefore store in a sealed form to keep it dry.
