Xcem Ltd. is pleased to present a high compressive strength micro glass ionomer product for restoration of low stress posterior teeth where aesthetics are of prime importance. Apart from chemical adhesion and biocompatibility, the product has a brisk snap set. Restomolar is also recommended as a pedodontic product where dental caries could not be removed effectively and yet some arrest of carious process is desired. Also useful for general use.
INDICATIONS: Permanent restoration of low stress posterior teeth. Semi-permanent restoration of teeth in cases of rampant caries and where all dental caries could not be removed due to equipment and personnel limitations. Also useful for cementation of crowns, bridges and ortho bands for immediate restoration of traumatized teeth.
PRESENTATION: 30gm powder & 20ml liquid.
MIXING: 2 drops liquid & 2 scoops of powder.
MIXING TIME: 30 seconds.
WORKING TIME: 2 minutes.
SET TIME: 3-5 minutes from start of mix.
USING INSTRUCTIONS: Invert powder bottle a few times to fluff up powder. Level fill powder scoop without compressing powder. Always replace lid on bottle after use.
Liquid bottle should be inverted and squeezed to give required drops of liquid onto mixing pad. Always replace lid immediately as liquid may dry without lid and this can cause blockage of liquid tip. Initially add first heap of powder and mix to homogenous paste by using metal spatula. Add rest of the powder incrementally until required consistency. The mixed material should have a glossy surface and is ready for use immediately.
CAVITY PREPARATION: Minimal cavity prep is required. Enamel should be preserved even if it is undercut. If the cavity misses very deep and there is almost risk of pulp exposure, a calcium hydroxide liner such as PULPCAL is recommended.
Following cavity prep, isolate tooth and dry the cavity. Fill cavity with mixed Restomolar, which can be condensed into a cavity plugger, taking care thoroughly until cavity is overfilled. Pack as necessary and contour before the restomolar begins to go to a rubbery set stage. Trim away excess and cover with varnish immediately. Restomolar will set rapidly; further adjustments to the restoration can be carried out after 4 minutes of mixing. Use fine grit stone to relieve occlusal surface and cover with varnish. For class III and II, use of celluloid type strip matrix is recommended for excellent adaptation and surface finish.
Where it is not possible to remove all dental decay use of glass ionomer may be advantageous as a semi- permanent restoration.
CAUTIONS: Liquid is adhesive and contains polyacrylic acid. Spatula and instruments should be wiped clean before setting. Spillages should be cleaned immediately. In case of contact with skin or eyes, wash immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice immediately.
Powder is very fine and may give rise to dust, however small amount is recommended and lid must be closed tightly between uses and after use.
